U.S. Secretary Delegates Authority to Federal Railroad Administrator for Magnetic Levitation Transportation Program

The U.S. Secretary is transferring his authority to the Federal Railroad Administrator to oversee a $950 million program for deploying magnetic levitation transportation technology, with $55 million allocated for Fiscal Years 1999-2001 and additional funds available for final design and construction.
