EPA Issues Modified General NPDES Permit for Alaska's Mechanical Placer Mining

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a modified general permit for mechanical placer mining in Alaska, which includes a new limit on arsenic effluent, effective April 1, 1998, following the withdrawal of federal regulations published in the Federal Register on March 2, 1998.
