EPA Releases Draft PBT Chemical List for Public Comment

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a draft list of 53 persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic (PBT) chemicals and categories that may be found in hazardous waste regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). The EPA is seeking public comment on the list and its development methodology, with a goal of reducing the generation of PBT chemicals in RCRA hazardous waste by at least half by 2005.
