Eligibility Criteria for the Montgomery GI BillActive Duty and Other Miscellaneous Issues

This document proposes to amend the educational assistance and educational benefit regulations of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The proposed amendments reflect statutory changes which set forth new eligibility criteria that will allow additional individuals to establish eligibility for educational assistance under the Montgomery GI Bill--Active Duty (MGIB); and also reflect statutory provisions concerning the approval of courses leading to alternative teacher certification. This document also would make changes for the purpose of clarification.
