EPA Proposes Administrative Penalty for Clean Water Act Violations and Requests Public Comment

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is providing notice of a proposed administrative penalty of up to $137,500 for alleged violations of the Clean Water Act, and is seeking public comment on the proposed penalty. The proposed penalty is authorized under section 311(b)(6) of the Clean Water Act and is subject to the Consolidated Rules of Practice Governing the Administrative Assessment of Civil Penalties, as outlined in 40 CFR part 22.
