EPA Proposes New Emission Standards for Publicly Owned Treatment Works
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing new emission standards for publicly owned treatment works (POTW) to reduce hazardous air pollutants (HAP) such as xylenes, methylene chloride, and benzene. The proposed rule aims to implement section 112 of the Clean Air Act and aligns with the EPA's list of 188 identified HAP.
