COPS Launches COPS in Schools Grant Program to Combat School Violence

The Department of Justice's Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is launching a new grant program called COPS in Schools, which aims to reduce school violence by hiring community policing officers in schools. This program will help law enforcement agencies build relationships with schools and use community policing to combat school violence, reducing the need for additional officers.
