EPA Approves Kentucky's Clean Air Plan, Revisions to State Implementation Plan
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed to approve the Kentucky 15 Percent Plan, an automobile inspection and maintenance program, and a 1990 baseline emissions inventory, required by the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments for the Cincinnati-Hamilton moderate nonattainment area. The EPA also approved revisions to the Kentucky State Implementation Plan, including changes to the Stage II control rule at gasoline dispensing facilities and the open burning rule, which aim to reduce emissions and meet the one-hour ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS).
