EPA Publishes National Recommended Water Quality Criteria for 157 Pollutants

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a compilation of its recommended water quality criteria for 157 pollutants, which will guide states and tribes in setting water quality standards under the Clean Water Act. The criteria, which are not regulations, aim to improve the public's input in the process of deriving new and revised water quality standards.
