NMFS Closes Pacific Cod Fishing in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is closing directed fishing for Pacific cod in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area due to the risk of exceeding the 1998 total allowable catch (TAC) limit for vessels using hook-and-line and pot gear in the area.
