EPA Approves Alternative Liner System and Cover Material for Salt River Landfill

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved two alternative standards for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community's municipal solid waste landfill. The approvals enable the use of a geosynthetic clay liner and a tarp system as cover material, allowing the landfill to meet federal environmental protection criteria.
