EPA Proposes Settlement for Leavenworth Auto Parts Site Cleanup Costs

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed a settlement with the owners of the Leavenworth Auto Parts Site in Kansas, where the agency will recover a portion of the federal government's past response costs for the site's cleanup. The proposed settlement, which must be approved by the EPA, would require the site's owners to pay $100,000 plus 65% of gross revenues from any sale or rental of the property, with the EPA also receiving $5,000.
