EPA to Hold Public Meetings on Implementation of New Water Treatment Rules

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking stakeholder comments on the implementation of two new rules, the Interim Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (IESWTR) and the Stage I Disinfectants/Disinfection Byproducts Rule (Stage I DBPR), which were signed into law on November 30, 1998. The EPA will hold public meetings in Denver, Colorado, and Washington, D.C., to gather feedback and suggestions from interested parties on January 13 and 22, 1999, respectively.
