Alternative Approaches to Defining Metropolitan and Nonmetropolitan Areas

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is reviewing its standards for defining metropolitan areas in the United States and Puerto Rico, and is seeking public comment on potential revisions to the criteria used to define these areas, which have not been updated since 1990.
