Extension of Comment Period for Health Care Fraud and Abuse Data Collection Program

The Health Care Fraud and Abuse Data Collection Program is extending its comment period at the request of several organizations, following the publication of a notice of proposed rulemaking in 1998 to implement the Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Banks (HIPDB) as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
