Organization; Termination of Farm Credit Status

This proposed rule will amend Farm Credit Administration's (FCA) regulations that will allow a Farm Credit System (FCS, Farm Credit or System) institution to terminate its FCS charter and become a financial institution under another Federal or State chartering authority. The purpose of our proposal is to amend the existing regulations so they apply to all banks and associations and to make other changes. We also withdraw a proposed termination rule published in 1993.
