FAA Publishes Amendment to AD T98-14-51 for CFM56-7B Engines to Prevent Dual Engine Shutdowns

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has published an amendment to Airworthiness Directive (AD) T98-14-51, which requires checks for abnormal magnetic particles in CFM International CFM56-7B series turbofan engines' Accessory Gearbox (AGB)/Transfer Gearbox (TGB) Magnetic Chip Detector (MCD). The measure aims to prevent a dual engine shutdown, which could lead to a forced landing and loss of the aircraft.
