Eurocopter Deutschland GmbH (ECD) has issued an airworthiness directive amendment for its MBB-BK117 A-1, A-3, A-4, B-1, B-2, and C-1 helicopters, following an accident on April 15, 1997, that resulted in one fatality. The amendment requires inspections, repairs, and reporting of cracks and loose rivets, with changes to the repair method for the vertical fin spar.
