FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 757-200 Series with Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4/E4B Engines
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) requiring Boeing Model 757-200 series airplanes powered by Rolls-Royce RB211-535E4/E4B engines to undergo repetitive inspections for cracking of the honeycomb core of the acoustic panels in the engine inlet. The directive also mandates eventual replacement of the existing engine inlet with a new or serviceable one, which will terminate the inspections.
