Proposed Collection; Comment Request

This program helps to ensure that requested data can be provided in the desired format, reporting burden (time and financial resources) is minimized, collection instruments are clearly understood, and the impact of collection requirements on respondents can be properly assessed. Currently, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is soliciting comments concerning the proposed revision and combination of the ``Manual for Developing Local Area Unemployment Statisics'' (OMB Number 1220-0017) and the ``Local Area Unemployment Statistics Reports'' (OMB Number 1220-0043). The two collections are being revised and combined into a single information collection titled the Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) Program, retaining OMB Number 1220-0017.
