FCC Proposes Rules for GMPCS Equipment Certification and Customs Procedure

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed rules and policies implementing the Global Mobile Personal Communications by Satellite (GMPCS) Memorandum of Understanding, which aims to establish emissions limits for mobile and portable earth stations in the 1610-1660.5 MHz band, as requested by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) and in accordance with the International Telecommunications Union's (ITU) international agreement.
