FCC Initiates Inquiry to Promote Competitive Telecommunications Networks

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking public comment on a Notice of Inquiry aimed at encouraging the development of competitive telecommunications networks, which would provide consumers with alternative services to those offered by incumbent local exchange carriers (LECs). The FCC is specifically looking for input on reasonable access to public rights-of-way and non-discriminatory state and local taxation.
