US Department of State Finalizes Rule on Public Charge Requirements for Immigrant Visas

The US Department of State has amended its regulations for issuing visas to establish uniform procedures for accepting affidavits of support from consular posts abroad, as required by the Immigration and Nationality Act. This change aims to improve the adjudication of immigrant visas following the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigration Responsibility Act of 1996.
