EPA Disapproves Alabama's Request to Redesignate Birmingham Ozone Nonattainment Area

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has disapproved the State of Alabama's request to redesignate the Birmingham marginal ozone nonattainment area to attainment, citing a prior violation of the ozone national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) in the area, which renders the redesignation ineligible.
