EPA Region 6 Proposes to Delete Surface Portion of Prewitt Abandoned Refinery Superfund Site from National Priorities List
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 is seeking public comment on its plan to partially delete the surface portion of the Prewitt Abandoned Refinery Superfund Site from the National Priorities List (NPL), which is part of the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP). The proposal, announced in 1995, aims to remove the surface soils and former separator area from the NPL, while leaving the subsurface portions, including groundwater and subsurface soils, on the list.
