EPA Raises Environmental Concerns Over Mining Projects and Requests Additional Information

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has expressed concerns over the potential environmental impacts of several mining projects, including the proposed sale of aggregate, underground mining, and processing operations, and has requested additional information on land use change, policy, and management conflict. The EPA has also reviewed and commented on other projects, including a national trail study and a recovery plan for the grizzly bear, and has expressed a lack of objection to the proposed special rule for the establishment of a nonessential experimental population of grizzly bears in the Bitterroot Area.
