EPA Filing Against GTE Corporation for Clean Water Act Violations

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has filed a civil administrative complaint against GTE Corporation for failing to prepare Spill Prevention Countermeasure and Control (SPCC) plans for 89 facilities storing diesel oil, in violation of the Clean Water Act (CWA) and its implementing regulations. The EPA is seeking a civil penalty and has provided GTE with notice of the proposed order, allowing for public comment.
