Student Assistance General Provisions

The Secretary amends the Student Assistance General Provisions regulations (34 CFR part 668) to revise Subparts B and K and add a new Subpart L. These final regulations improve the Secretary's oversight of institutions participating in programs authorized by title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (title IV, HEA programs), by revising the standards of financial responsibility to provide a more accurate and comprehensive measure of an institution's financial condition. The regulations reflect the Secretary's commitment to ensuring institutional accountability and protecting the Federal interest while imposing the least possible burden on participating institutions.
