Nevada Mining Claims: BLM Amends Surface Management Regulations to Allow Various Financial Guarantees

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) updated its surface management regulations in 1997 to enable Nevada State Directors to use different types of financial guarantees, such as surety bonds and certificates of deposit, to meet reclamation requirements under Nevada state law.
