Sole Source Aquifer Designation of the Guemes Island Aquifer System; Skagit County, Washington

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has designated the Guemes Island aquifer system in Skagit County, Washington, as a sole source of drinking water, meaning that contamination of this aquifer would pose a significant risk to public health. As a result, all federal projects proposed over this aquifer will undergo EPA review to prevent such a hazard.
