EPA Approves Illinois' Plan to Regulate Emissions from Municipal Waste Combustors
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved Illinois' plan to regulate emissions from existing Municipal Waste Combustors (MWCs) with a capacity to burn more than 250 tons of municipal solid waste per day. The approved plan sets emission limits and control requirements for the Robbins Resource Recovery Center in Illinois, which burns a significant amount of municipal waste.
