Nuclear Regulatory Commission Withdraws Direct Final Rule on Criticality Accident Requirements

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has withdrawn a direct final rule that would have allowed light-water nuclear power reactor licensees to handle special nuclear material more flexibly, following significant adverse comments on the proposed rule, and is now revoking the regulatory text associated with it.
