NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming Toyota Landcruiser MPVs

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has accepted a petition to allow the importation of 1981-1988 Toyota Landcruiser multi-purpose passenger vehicles that do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, as they are substantially similar to US-certified vehicles and can be modified to comply with safety regulations.
