NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 1996 Chrysler LHS

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received a petition from a company requesting a decision that certain 1996 Chrysler LHS passenger cars, which do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, can be imported into the US due to their substantial similarity to US-certified vehicles and their ability to be modified to meet safety standards.
