NHTSA Proposes Amendment to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard on Headlamp Concealment Devices
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is proposing to amend the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) on lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment to allow manufacturers to choose between complying with the existing provision or a new provision based on the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's (ECE) standard on headlamp concealment devices, which NHTSA believes is functionally equivalent in terms of safety benefits.
