Census Bureau Proposes Amendment to Foreign Trade Statistics Regulations for Foreign Military Sales

The US Census Bureau proposes to amend the Foreign Trade Statistics Regulations to require exporters to include a foreign military sales indicator code on export declarations for goods or military equipment sold under the Foreign Military Sales program, aiming to improve data accuracy for the US balance of payments and GDP. This change will also enhance the accuracy of the Department of Commerce's monthly trade release.
