AT&T Requests Limited Waiver of Payphone Compensation Obligation Under the Telecommunications Act of 1996

The Common Carrier Bureau adopted a Memorandum Opinion and Order, granting interexchange carriers a waiver of payphone compensation requirements to pay per-phone instead of per-call compensation for subscriber 800 and access code calls from payphones when payphone-specific coding digits are not available. This waiver is a companion to the Bureau Coding Digit Waiver Order and the Bureau Waiver Order.
