FCC Issues Protective Order for Non-Rural LECs in Universal Service Proceeding

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a protective order for non-rural local exchange carriers (LECs) to safeguard trade secrets and confidential information submitted during the universal service proceeding to select a mechanism for high cost support. This order does not resolve the merits of whether confidential information should be publicly released upon a proper request.
