FDA Reclassifies Tweezer-Type Epilator for Hair Removal

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a final rule to reclassify the tweezer-type epilator from a Class III device requiring premarket approval to a Class I device subject to general controls, exempting it from premarket notification requirements, effective November 25, 1998.
