FDA Proposes Changes to Medical Device Performance Standards for Dental and Mammographic X-Ray Devices

The FDA is proposing to exempt panoramic dental x-ray units from an automatic timer reset requirement, which would protect patients from unnecessary radiation, and make five changes to align the performance standard with mammography equipment requirements issued in 1992.
