The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Office for Protection from Research Risks (OPRR) at the National Institutes of Health have published revised lists of research activities involving human subjects that can be reviewed by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) through an expedited review procedure. The lists were developed in response to public comments received between November 10, 1997, and March 10, 1998, following a request for feedback on the proposed republication of the lists.
