FinCEN Proposes Amendment to Bank Secrecy Act Regulations for Money Services Businesses

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is proposing to amend the Bank Secrecy Act regulations to require money services businesses to register with the Department of the Treasury and maintain a list of their agents for examination by law enforcement agencies. The proposed rule also revises the definitions of non-bank financial institutions, including the United States Postal Service, and reflects changes made by the Money Laundering Suppression Act of 1994.
