Health Standards for Occupational Noise Exposure

This proposed rule would supplement MSHA's proposed rule for occupational noise exposure in coal mines and in metal and nonmetal mines, which was published on December 17, 1996, by adding a new provision addressing the right of miners and miners' representatives to observe required operator monitoring under the proposed noise exposure standards. MSHA is also announcing the close of the comment period, notice of public hearing, and close of the rulemaking record.
