Airworthiness Directives; McDonnell Douglas Model DC-9 Series Airplanes and C-9 (Military) Series Airplanes
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain McDonnell Douglas Model DC-9 series airplanes and C-9 (military) series airplanes to modify the emergency internal release system of the tailcone and the accessory compartment. The proposed AD aims to ensure the safe deployment of the tailcone during emergency evacuations and prevent injuries from exposed metal frames.
