HUD Publishes Final FY 1997 Fair Market Rents for Section 8 Housing Assistance Program

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has released the final Fair Market Rents (FMRs) for Fiscal Year 1997, which will take effect on October 1, 1997. The updated FMRs reflect changes in 21 areas based on HUD-contracted Random Digit Dialing surveys and 8 areas that submitted public comments, while also reducing FMRs in 9 areas that were previously proposed for reduction.
