NMFS Announces Revision to Atlantic Herring Preliminary Fishery Management Plan

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has removed the spawning closure provisions from the Atlantic herring Preliminary Fishery Management Plan (PMP), allowing a joint venture to operate in previously closed areas and increasing opportunities for domestic fishers.
