Consolidated HUD Hearing Procedures for Civil Rights Matters

This final rule consolidates HUD's hearing procedures for nondiscrimination and equal opportunity matters in a new 24 CFR part 180. Currently, the hearing procedures established under the various civil rights statutory authorities are described in different parts of title 24. The consolidation of these procedures will eliminate redundancy from title 24, present uniformity, and assist in HUD's efforts to streamline the contents of its regulations. Additionally, this final rule makes appropriate adjustments in stated penalty amounts pursuant to the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996.
