EPA Proposes Conditional Approval of Maryland's Enhanced Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing conditional approval of a revised State Implementation Plan (SIP) submitted by the State of Maryland, which aims to establish and implement an enhanced motor vehicle inspection and maintenance (I/M) program in several counties and the City of Baltimore, in an effort to address deficiencies in the program's legal authority, performance standards, and finalized regulations.
