Endangered and Threatened Species; Notice of Six-Month Extension on the Final Determination on Whether to List the Oregon Coast and Southern Oregon/Northern California Coast Evolutionarily Significant Units (ESUs) of Coho Salmon
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is extending the deadline to list two coho salmon Evolutionarily Significant Units (ESUs) in Oregon and northern California as threatened species due to substantial scientific disagreement over the data used to support the listing. The new deadline is six months later than the original one, allowing NMFS to gather more information to make an informed decision.
