New COBRA Continuation Coverage Requirements for State and Local Government Employees

The Public Health Service Act has been amended to require state and local government employers to provide certain employees and their family members with the opportunity to continue health care coverage under a group health plan in specific instances, with notice to be provided by November 1, 1996.
